Titanium Tryout Successful

Pair Impress as Roster Starts Taking Shape

New Braunfels, TX – The Texas Titanium are expected to sign two players following Saturday’s tryout.
Sharpshooting guard Christian “Fish” Fishet impressed with his perimeter range and ability to knock down the mid-range jumper — a skill that has become increasingly rare in today’s game.

Athletic frontcourt player Marquis Traylor also stood out, showcasing his strength and ability to run the floor in transition. That style of play is exactly what Player-Coach Shaquille Hall is looking for as he begins constructing the Titanium’s inaugural roster.

Watch the video below to hear comments from Fishet, Traylor, Hall, and Kevin Molina, who previously signed with the Titanium.

Historic Signings as Titanium Ink Two

New Braunfels, TX – The Texas Titanium became the first team to officially add a player to its roster by signing guard Kevin Molina. Moments later, forward / center Shaquille Hall signed with the Titanium as well.

Molina played collegiately at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio. He overcame autism and other challenges but he is ready to this next chapter in his career.

The six foot, seven inch Hall played at the University of Texas, San Antonio before playing for four years while in the Military, followed by a stint with the ABA’s San Antonio Blaze.

The two joined ABL CEO Mac Claire for the historic signing in New Braunfels before Molina, took family and friends away to celebrate at a nearby restaurant. The 36 year old Shaq on the other hand, chose to head back home to celebrate with his family.

A contrast of these two players, yet they already have made a connection.

That can only bode well for the Titanium when the season begins.

Titanuium to Make Historic Signing Friday

New Braunfels, TX – The American Basketball League’s Texas Titanum will be the first to put a player’s John Hancock on a league contract Friday.

It’s former Incarnate Word University’s Kevin Molina.

A symbol of perseverence, an example of what can happen when one ignores the naysayers, the older than average rookie is realizing a dream, to play competitive basketball on a minor league team.

“This is about more than basketball ability,” explained ABL Founder and CEO Mac Claire. “This is about a guy who had done all that’s been asked of him.

“Staring disabilities in the face and winning, that takes courage that many would never find within themselves.”

The determined Molina has overcome autism and is an inspiration to many who deal with that challenge. Friday’s signing will mean more to him than one could imagine.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to play basketball on the minor league level. Having graduated at a later age than most (Kevin is 32 years young), I’m fortunate to have this chance.”

The Titanium open the season at home in New Braunfels on April 25th vs the Houston Jets.
